143 KISD Seniors Earning College Degree Before High School Diploma; CTC Commencement Friday

When Central Texas College celebrates graduation on Friday, 143 of the new college graduates will be headed back to high school for a few days before participating in another commencement ceremony.
 
A total of 100 Killeen ISD high school seniors are set to receive associates degrees through the KISD Early College High School and another 43 will earn their degree through the district’s STEM Academy.
 
Both the Early College High School and STEM Academy are partnership programs between KISD and CTC. They allow students to complete two years of college simultaneously with their four years of high school.
 
The Early College High School seniors set to graduate have earned $2.4 million in college scholarships so far.
 
The CTC graduation is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Bell County Expo Center.
 
Early College High School will conduct its graduation at 7:00 p.m. May 25 at the Expo Center.
 
Other KISD graduations are Shoemaker High at 9:00 a.m. May 27, Killeen High at 2:00 p.m. May 27, Ellison High at 2:00 p.m. May 28 and Harker Heights High at 7:00 p.m. May 28, all at the Expo Center. All graduation ceremonies will be streamed live on KISDTV Channel 17 and online www.killeenisd.org/livetv.
 
The last day of school for students in KISD is May 26.
